Y se fue!

This past week we had our Branch Conference. The week was filled with amazing activities, from International Food Competecions, to service projects, to visiting more than 100 members! Other than that, I do not knowwhat to say, so I shall send it through pictures, it was an allout good week. Can´t wait for General Conference. Love you all!

Lo estamos pasando Chancho!

Or in other words, We are partying hard! This week was quite excepcional, a little different that what I am used to doing, but the Chileans really know how to have a good time! From the dances, to the barbeques, to who knows what haha!

We were not able to work that much this week, which is a downside, we were preparing, cooking, clean, almost everything to help the parties work out. There is not much to say, so I will send a lot of pictures so that you can see a little piece of the glory!

Love you all and miss you very much,
Elder Siaosi

I probably should not have danced with the little girl, but she was sad that no one would dance with her, and she reminded me of Corinne.

Tis the season to be jolly!!!

This past week has been absolutely packed with ervicios, activities, more servicios, amazing almuerzos. Lets just start out on Monday, we had two noche de hogares, where we showed the short film, Only a Stone Cutter, which is great motivation to get people to go to church/magnify their calling. The movie was followed with some of the typical Chilean foods, Sopaipillias, Calzones Rotos, y Sopaipillas Pasadas. They are so delicious! Tuesday we had our district clases, almuerzo super lejos, and then a bunch of sweet citas! Miercoles we had our interviews with the President, and more sweet citas. Thursday was a little crazy, on the 11 de Sept, it is a little loco down here in Chile because it is the revolution day, so we had to get inside the house before 8, and the whole day we ended up doing a huge sercicio, restoring one of the members house that was in pretty bad shape. Friday, we had our day of activities, ping pong tournies, futbol with the jovenes, and a Family Movie Night for the members to invite their friends. Saturday, another servicio in Linares, in which my companion and I had to rewire and make eletrical outlets, and switches from a small house in the campo, then we had to clean our church here in Longaví, and then head back to Linares for the Adult seccion of conference. On Sunday, the conference just destroyed the whole day haha, we also met with our President of the Rama for a little while as well to discuss what we are going to do for the 18 de Septiembre!

For those of you who do not know, 18 de Septiembre is the first day that starts the festivals, of when Chile first started the Independence Process, and in such it is a little bit like the 4th of July in the United States, but here is celebrated with more festivals, parties, barbeques, dances, empanadas, everything, it is honestly more festive than Christmas, we have lights hung up, streamers, the whole lot, it is quite amazing! This week should be a blast, the work will be a lot less productive, but work we will none the less!

Hope to have more exciting events to tell, and miracles as well! Love you all and miss you as well!!

Grey Clouds

Hey everyone, another exciting week right. When is it not exciting!

Well I will do a little recap so that I won`t miss anything. Monday, we had a noche de hogar and we heard a message about how we need to be watching out for the music we listen to and the movies we watch because they affect us a lot! Also learned a new fun game that I can`t wait to show you all at home!! Tuesday, we had our classes, of our district and of a choir, who would have guessed we would learn to sing! Also had a bunch of great lessons! Same for Wednesday, just a lot of working! As for Thursday, we found a good amount of new people to teach, three new familes, lets hope they progress right! Fun Friday we had a good amount of activities, deportes, cine, oh and we had to pay the FBI of Chile a visit so that my companion could get his carnet straight! On Saturday, we held a class of cueca, the national dance of Chile, I think that I know how to do it from watching it so much ahha! And Sunday we had our break the fast party. If you know what that is, it is just a bug lunch in the church that we have after a fast Sunday so that all the members can socialize and we can all have a good time! Oh and today, we had a huge tourney for soccer against another zone. We won of course!

Well to leave you all with one thing that I am starting to learn. It is that the Lord calls you to leadership positions, usually not because you are ready, but so that you can become the Leader you were called to be. And one part of being a leader, and living life in general, is that not all of life is easy and nice. Sometimes life is harder that we want, and not everything is perfect. Something that I love in the streets that we walk by all the time, is this graffiti about how the grey clouds are a part of the journey. We need to learn that the sun, the stars, and the clouds are all part of life, and that we should enjoy every part of it!!

Love you all so much!

El Mexican y El Mexican´t

Reporting from a small ciber in Linares, I´ve got some good news, and some even better news. First of all family and friends, the rain has been just coming down, and doesn´t look to stop anytime soon, not that I mind, but it requires that we need to work in a different manner. I am loving it though, as long as you stay dry, thanks to the family and friends, a special thanks to Uncle Al, I am staying dry even when it is pouring buckets.

Also, something a little different, is that now, I am with the Elder Herrera, the Mexicano, and he is such a good missionary, he knows what he is doing and he knows how to have fun. So far I am having a blast with him, and we are working and hastening the work in between! He is teaching me how to cook sweet sweet mexican food, to the spiciest of delicacies! We are going to have a good cambio.

Nothing too interesting happened this week, we have been doing what we do best. Working. One thing that I feel that we have been focusing on is that we are searching for what President Monson refers to as, The Lonely. Those who are broken in heart, have been prepared, those that are ready to recieve. As missionaries, and members of the church we must always be preparing others for the gospel, wither by our example, or by our words. We must always be helping other to see the light that we have. And we do this not because we want to look better than other people, but because we hope that one day, they too will join the fold. As missionaries in the mission Chile Concepcion, we look for the escogidos, the chosen ones, that have been preared, humbled, and are ready to accept the truth that we offer.

Again, gotta run, there honestly is not enough time for everything to do on our free day! I am grateful for everyone back at home, as well as here in Chile. Love you all and miss you very much!

Your,
Elder Siaosi
